OUR STORY

it’s been a long, long time…

“I heard there’s someone else that wants to do architecture next year…”

— Donnie

“We competed against each other, until we didn’t.”

— Flavia

Flavia & Donnie

We met in the summer of 2008 before high school started.

The classic story of competitors to lovers.

After 3 years of trying to out-do each other in front of teachers, college reps and classmates. We finally teamed up… in an architecture competition.

We lost.

But, we won each other <3

5 years of undergrad, real-world architecture experience, graduate school and some adulting later. We’re finally making this official!

It has been a long, long time…

a little more…

What was your first impression of each other?

Her: I thought he was betrothed to his friend. Who then I thought was his cousin. None of that was true.

Him: I thought she was smart, and I had to watch out.

How did you get engaged?

With our best friend as his accomplice, he organized a surprise pre-birthday private Candlelight concert on a rooftop in Miami Design District, blocks away from our high school. With the pink Miami sunset as our backdrop, he popped the question.

What is your favorite activity to do together?

We enjoy building Legos, going on trips, late-night ice cream runs and movie-nights in with Zeus.

What was your most heated architectural debate?

Frank Gehry’s Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles, CA, USA.
